Author Bio

Jason Patrick Berry is the author of the memoir Secrets Beneath, a courageous exploration of childhood trauma, silence, and resilience. Through his personal journey, Jason sheds light on the hidden struggles many face and inspires readers with hope and healing.

  • Jason is a survivor of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse whose writing reflects the ongoing journey of turning pain into healing. Recovery, for him, has not been a straight path but a blend of therapy, time, healthy habits, time in nature, and plenty of laughter–because humor has been one of the most powerful ways he’s found to heal. As an advocate for child abuse awareness and healthy living habits, he champions practices such as clean eating and holistic healing to inspire hope and recovery.

    Born and raised in Connecticut, he now lives in Florida with his husband, Shaun, and their two dogs, Ellie and Mia. Jason treasures time with his close-knit circle of family and friends, who have been a steady source of strength through his battles with PTSD and anxiety. He is happiest at the beach, camping, doing projects at home, baking something sweet, or gathering with loved ones to share stories and laughter. His memoir is about finding strength in vulnerability and hope in connection, and he hopes his words remind others that they are never alone–and that healing, in all its imperfect forms, is possible.
